DNA virus
Deoxyribonucleic acid microbe
A DNA virus is a virus whose genetic material is DNA rather than RNA.
These viruses replicate by hijacking a host cell's machinery to copy their DNA and produce new viral particles.
Examples include herpesviruses, poxviruses, and papillomaviruses.
Smallpox was caused by a DNA virus.
