Archimedes
Bathtub discovery legend
Archimedes was a Greek mathematician, physicist, and engineer of the third century BCE, considered one of the greatest scientists of antiquity.
He discovered principles of buoyancy and leverage, famously exclaiming Eureka! upon realizing that submerged objects displace water equal to their volume.
The Archimedean screw, a device for raising water, bears his name.
Give me a lever long enough and I shall move the world.
