torque
Moment of force
Torque is rotational force—the twisting power that causes something to spin around an axis.
In physics and engineering, torque measures how effectively a force produces rotation: The engine delivers impressive torque at low RPMs.
A wrench applies torque to a bolt; a car's torque determines acceleration.
The verb means to apply such force: Don't torque it too tight or you'll strip the threads.
