load

Truck's carried freight

A load is a burden, often a physical one but sometimes abstract.

Whatever a cargo or freight vehicle carries is called its load: A semi overturned and dropped its load on the Interstate.

In computing and cognitive contexts, load can refer to the amount of information being processed, sometimes with reference to a limit.

Load also has many slang meanings.

As a verb, load means to add to or create a load: Load the crates into the truck.

When something is loaded with a substance of quality, it has a large quantity of it: The new game is loaded with special effects.

To say that someone is loaded is an informal way of saying that they are drunk, or rich.
