Greece
Birthplace of democracy
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe, occupying the southern tip of the Balkan Peninsula and numerous Aegean islands.
Ancient Greece is foundational to Western civilization—philosophy, democracy, theater, and the Olympic Games trace their origins there.
Modern Greece joined the European Union in 1981.
We island-hopped through Greece last summer.
