trends
What's in now
Trends are general directions of change or development.
Fashion trends determine what people wear; market trends influence investment decisions.
A trend can be upward, downward, or sideways: The trend in housing prices has been steadily upward.
To trend is to show such a direction, or in social media contexts, to gain rapid popularity: The hashtag is trending worldwide.
