influence
Pull over others
Influence is the power or capacity to produce an effect.
The effect may be seen in a person (You can see the influence of the preacher in all of Pastor Whiting’s children) or in something physical or abstract (the influence of the moon on the tides; the influence of weather on grasshopper populations).
As a verb, influence means to impact: Her plea influenced my decision.
