theatre
Where plays happen
Theatre is the British spelling of theater—the art form of staged dramatic performance, or the building where such performances occur.
Both spellings work for all senses: a theatre of war, a surgical theatre, theatrical behavior.
American English strongly prefers theater; British English uses theatre almost exclusively.
