visioning
Mentally seeing ahead
Visioning is the process of creating or articulating a vision—imagining and describing a desired future state.
The term appears frequently in corporate, organizational, and community planning contexts: The committee held a visioning session to discuss the city's future, strategic visioning workshops.
It emphasizes collective imagination and goal-setting, though critics find the word jargony.
