grenade
Pinned hand weapon
A grenade is a small explosive device thrown by hand or launched from a rifle.
The standard military grenade detonates after a few seconds, scattering shrapnel.
Other grenades deliver smoke, tear gas, or flash-bang effects.
The word extends to any small container designed to burst: a fire extinguisher grenade, a glass grenade of perfume.
