toss

Gentle underhand lob

Toss means to throw something lightly or casually, often with an upward or sideways motion: She tossed her keys on the counter.

You can toss a salad by mixing it, toss and turn in bed when you can't sleep, or toss back a drink by downing it quickly.

To toss something out is to discard it.

A coin toss decides matters by chance.

In British slang, if you don't give a toss, you don't care at all, and a tosser is a contemptible person.
