sepulchre
Stone burial chamber
A sepulchre is a tomb or burial chamber, especially one cut into rock or built as a monument.
The word is literary and archaic, appearing most often in biblical or poetic contexts: the Holy Sepulchre, a whited sepulchre.
A whited sepulchre, from Matthew 23:27, describes someone outwardly righteous but inwardly corrupt—beautiful on the outside, full of dead bones within.
Also spelled sepulcher.
