cemetery
Final resting place
A cemetery is a place where the dead are buried, typically a landscaped area with marked graves.
Unlike a churchyard, which adjoins a church, a cemetery is usually a separate, dedicated ground: the old cemetery on the edge of town.
The word often suggests a more formal or established burial place than a graveyard.
