frescoes

Wet plaster art

Frescoes is the plural of fresco, a technique of painting on wet plaster so the pigment bonds with the wall as it dries.

The term also refers to the artworks themselves: The Sistine Chapel frescoes took Michelangelo four years to complete.

Frescos is an acceptable alternative plural.
