unto
Biblical direction word
Unto is sometimes seen in older and formal English but has now largely been replaced by to.
It remains in some fixed phrases when followed by a reflexive pronoun (a law unto himself) and quotations from the Bible.
The un- part of unto is not a negating particle (as in unwanted).
