Joseph of Arimathea
Burial site provider
Joseph of Arimathea is a biblical figure who appears in all four Gospels as the man who claimed Jesus's body after the crucifixion and provided a tomb for burial.
Described as a wealthy member of the Jewish council and a secret disciple, he asked Pontius Pilate for permission to bury Jesus.
Medieval legends expanded his story significantly, connecting him to the Holy Grail and, in British tradition, to the founding of Christianity in England at Glastonbury.
