scrolling
Moving through content
Scrolling is moving through digital content by sliding it up, down, or sideways on a screen.
The term comes from how ancient scrolls were read by unrolling one section while rolling up another.
On phones and computers, you scroll by swiping, dragging, or using a wheel: I was scrolling through Instagram for an hour.
Endless scrolling describes the hypnotic pull of feeds designed to keep you engaged indefinitely.
