right-click

Secondary mouse action

Right-click is to press the secondary button on a computer mouse, typically the one under the right index finger.

This action usually opens a context menu with options relevant to whatever you clicked on: Right-click the file to see sharing options.

The term works as both verb and noun: a right-click on the desktop.

On devices without a physical right button, the same function is achieved through gestures or modifier keys.
