Icons and windows
GUI (graphical user interface) is the visual system of windows, icons, menus, and pointer controls that lets users interact with computers without typing commands.
Pronounced "gooey" or spelled out.
Before GUIs, users typed text commands at a prompt.
The app has a clean GUI. (Lowercase gui is a rare fish name.)
