roundel
Heraldic circular design
A roundel is a circular design, emblem, or object.
In heraldry and military contexts, it refers to a colored disc used as an identifying mark—aircraft of the Royal Air Force display the distinctive red, white, and blue roundel.
In poetry, a roundel is a short verse form with a refrain.
The word also describes any round shape in art or architecture: a stained glass roundel, decorative roundels on the ceiling.
