crest
Tuft or peak
A crest is the highest point or top of something—the crest of a hill, the crest of a wave.
It extends to ornamental features at the top: the ridge of feathers on a bird's head, the plume on a helmet, the heraldic emblem above a shield.
To crest is to reach the peak: The river crested at twelve feet.
At the crest of his career, someone has reached the height of success.
