Discs in heraldry
Roundels are circular designs or objects.
In heraldry, a roundel is a disc-shaped charge on a coat of arms, with different colors having specific names: a gold roundel is a bezant, a red one a torteau.
In aviation, roundels are the circular national insignia on military aircraft: the RAF's red, white, and blue roundel.
The term also applies to circular decorative elements in architecture or art.
