fess
Reluctantly spill truth
Fess is an informal shortening of confess, almost always appearing as fess up: He finally fessed up to breaking the window.
It implies admitting something reluctantly or after initial denial.
Separately, in heraldry, a fess is a horizontal band across the middle of a shield.
