onstage
Where actors work
Onstage means on the stage of a theater, in view of the audience: The actor forgot his lines onstage.
It works as both adverb and adjective: She walked onstage, his onstage persona.
Figuratively, onstage suggests being in the public eye or performing for others, as opposed to one's private self.
