monologue
One person talking
A monologue is an extended speech by one person.
In theater, it's a character speaking alone or at length while others listen—distinguished from dialogue, which involves exchange.
The term extends to anyone holding forth without interruption: He launched into a monologue about his golf game.
A dramatic monologue in poetry is a poem spoken entirely by a single character.
