energy
Capacity for work
Energy is the capacity for doing work or producing change—the fundamental currency of physics.
In everyday use, energy describes vitality and vigor: I don't have the energy to argue.
A person with energy is lively and active.
Energy also refers to power sources: renewable energy, nuclear energy.
To put energy into something is to apply sustained effort.
