cue

Signal to start

A cue is a signal to act—the word or gesture that tells an actor to speak, or any prompt that triggers a response: That's your cue to leave.

To cue someone is to give them such a signal.

A cue is also the long stick used to strike balls in pool or billiards.

To cue up is to ready something for playback: Cue up the next track.

Right on cue means at exactly the expected moment.
