hand

Arm's terminal extremity

Your hand is the terminal body part of your arm that anchors your fingers.

A hand can also be a person who works using the hands (farmhand).

The playing cards you hold are your hand.

Firsthand, secondhand, and thirdhand refer to the successive distance from an original source: I only heard it secondhand.

When hand comes before another noun, it denotes something for the hands, done with the hands, or otherwise concerning the hands (handbag, hand sanitizer, hand grenade).

To hand something to someone is to deliver it – usually with your hands.
