pointing
Aiming a finger
Pointing is the act of directing attention toward something, typically by extending a finger or an object in its direction.
Dogs point by freezing in position with their nose aimed at game birds.
In masonry, pointing refers to filling and finishing the mortar joints between bricks or stones: The old wall needs repointing.
As a present participle, pointing often appears after verbs of accusation: All evidence was pointing at the suspect.
