phalanges
Bones in digits
Phalanges are the bones of the fingers and toes.
Each finger has three phalanges (proximal, middle, and distal), except the thumb, which has two.
The toes follow the same pattern.
The singular is phalanx, though that word more commonly refers to a tight military formation or any organized group acting in concert.
