pony

Child's riding lesson

A pony is a young horse (pony stallion) or a small horse (Shetland pony).

Pony is sometimes used to characterize things that are smaller than the standard size, especially alcoholic drinks.

The verb pony up is not related to horses and means to pay or put in money, usually in the context of achieving fairness or settling an account.
