sensation
Something widely felt
Sensation is something perceived through the senses—a physical feeling like heat, pain, or pressure: a tingling sensation in my fingers.
It extends to vaguer feelings: a sensation of being watched.
A sensation is also something that causes widespread excitement or interest: The video became an overnight sensation.
The adjective sensational means either thrilling or, often dismissively, exaggerated for effect.
