crash
System suddenly stops
A crash occurs when two rather large things collide violently (car crash, plane crash).
The verb is also crash: The comet crashed into an uninhabited desert.
Crash can also designate the loud sound that typically arises from these collisions.
In slang, to crash somewhere is to sleep there temporarily, or to experience a period of depression or anxiety, especially after taking drugs.
When a computer crashes, it stops working suddenly and unexpectedly.
