vibration
Continuous shaking motion
Vibration is rapid back-and-forth movement—the oscillation of an object around a fixed point.
A guitar string vibrates to produce sound; an engine vibrates as it runs.
The plural vibrations, shortened to vibes, refers to emotional atmospheres or feelings sensed from a person or place: The house gave off bad vibrations.
In singular form, vibration can work the same way: There was a weird vibration in the room.
