stasis
Unchanging suspended state
Stasis is a state of inactivity or equilibrium where nothing changes or progresses.
In medicine, it refers to the slowing or stoppage of normal flow, especially blood: venous stasis.
In science fiction, stasis often describes suspended animation—a character placed in stasis for interstellar travel.
The word suggests stillness that may be temporary or stuck: The negotiations reached a stasis that lasted months.
