power plant
Industrial energy facility
A power plant is a facility that generates electricity, typically by converting energy from fuel sources like coal, natural gas, nuclear reactions, or renewable sources like wind and solar.
Also called a power station.
The old coal-fired power plant is being decommissioned.
In automotive contexts, power plant refers to an engine or motor: The sports car's power plant produces 400 horsepower.
