impotence
Complete lack of power
Impotence is the inability to take effective action or achieve a desired result, often carrying connotations of frustration and helplessness: He raged at his own impotence in the face of bureaucracy.
The word also specifically refers to a man's inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse—a medical sense now more commonly called erectile dysfunction.
Both uses share the core idea of lacking power or capacity where it is expected or needed.
