IPv6
Successor addressing standard
IPv6 is the latest version of the Internet Protocol, the system that assigns numerical addresses to devices on the internet.
It uses 128-bit addresses written as eight groups of hexadecimal digits separated by colons, vastly expanding the address space beyond the roughly four billion addresses available under IPv4.
The transition to IPv6 has been gradual: The server supports both IPv4 and IPv6.
