stateless

Lacking any nationality

Stateless describes something that retains no information between interactions or operations.

In computing, a stateless protocol treats each request independently, with no memory of previous exchanges—HTTP is stateless by design.

The term extends to any system that doesn't track or preserve its condition over time.

Separately, stateless describes a person without citizenship in any country: stateless refugees, rendered stateless by the border changes.
