localhost
Computer addressing itself
Localhost is the hostname a computer uses to refer to itself.
In networking, it resolves to the IP address 127.0.0.1, allowing a machine to communicate with its own services without reaching the external network.
Developers use localhost to test websites and applications locally before deploying them: The site works fine on localhost but crashes on the server.
