videocam
Portable motion camera
A videocam is a video camera—a device that records moving images.
The term is informal shorthand, used interchangeably with camcorder for handheld recording devices: She brought her videocam to the wedding.
Less common now that smartphones have largely replaced dedicated video cameras for casual recording.
