camcorder
Portable video device
A camcorder is a portable video camera with a built-in recorder, combining camera and recorder in one handheld device.
The word emerged in the 1980s when home video recording became widely accessible.
Though smartphones have largely displaced camcorders for casual recording, dedicated camcorders remain common for professional and semi-professional video work.
