anamorphic

Squeezed then unsqueezed

Anamorphic describes images that are intentionally distorted so they appear normal only when viewed from a particular angle or through a special lens.

In cinema, anamorphic lenses squeeze a wide image onto standard film, then unsqueeze it during projection to create widescreen format: The film was shot in anamorphic widescreen.

Anamorphic art appears stretched or warped until the viewer finds the right vantage point.
