thrower
One who hurls
A thrower is someone or something that throws.
The word appears in compounds specifying what's thrown: knife thrower, flame thrower, shot-putter and discus thrower.
In pottery, a thrower is a craftsperson who shapes clay on a spinning wheel—the clay is "thrown" onto the wheel to begin forming it.
