smithy
Metal shaping workshop
A smithy is a blacksmith's workshop—the place where metal is heated and shaped on an anvil.
The word evokes forges, hammers, and glowing iron: The clang of metal rang from the village smithy.
Sometimes used interchangeably with forge, though smithy emphasizes the building rather than the hearth itself.
