horn
Goat's head growth
Horn is the hard growth of keratin emerging from the heads of some animals, typically in pairs that are called horns.
Other uses were found for these growths in ancient times, including their use as wind instruments, and so today horn is a generic term for brass wind instruments.
The audible warning device on a car is also a horn.
Animals may lock horns in combat.
Figuratively, humans may do the same: The couple locked horns over whether or not to attend the party.
