Where telecommuters work
A home office is a dedicated workspace within a residence, typically a room or corner set up for professional work or managing household affairs: I converted the spare bedroom into a home office.
The term became ubiquitous during the shift to remote work.
It also refers to the main headquarters of a company, as opposed to branch locations: The home office in Chicago sets policy for all regional branches. (Capitalized Home Office is the British government department.)
