religion
Worship system, codified
Religion is a systematic way of organizing existential beliefs, such as whether there is life after death, how the universe began, and the purpose of existence.
Some religions are based on the teachings of a single spiritual leader; this is the case with Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism.
Other religions, such as Judaism and Hinduism, do not identify a single historical figure but instead have developed over millennia from widely-held beliefs.
