agnosticism
Neither belief nor denial
Agnosticism is the position that the existence of God or gods is unknown or unknowable.
Unlike atheism, which denies the divine, agnosticism suspends judgment: His agnosticism prevented him from joining either the church or the atheist society.
The term extends beyond religion to any stance of principled uncertainty: scientific agnosticism about untestable claims.
