menorah

Nine-branched candle holder

A menorah is a candelabrum used in Jewish worship.

The traditional menorah has seven branches and is an ancient symbol of Judaism, depicted on Israel's state emblem.

The nine-branched menorah, called a hanukkiah, is lit during Hanukkah, with one candle added each night: We gathered around the menorah on the first night of Hanukkah.
